I was born and raised in Bloomington, IL and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I moved to the Champaign area in 1984 and for the past 13 years I have lived in St. Joseph with my husband and two sons.
I have nursing experience in acute care, long-term care and hospice, as well as 11 years working as a health facilities surveillance nurse for the Illinois Department of Public Health. I recently became a certified dementia practitioner (CDP). Along with teaching the CNA classes at UAE, I also teach CNA classes at Parkland College. I completed training to be a Faith Community Nurse (also known as a parish nurse) and currently serve as a volunteer parish nurse at St. Patricks of Urbana.
