Lynette Correa-Velez, M.Ed. is a human capital empowerment professional with over 14 years’ experience in education, career and workforce development and training. She is a Boston, MA native and a first-generation high school and college graduate. Lynette earned her M.Ed. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in Human Resource Development with a concentration in Management of e-Learning for Workplace Learning and Training, and a B.S. in Business Management, with Specialization in Human Resource Management, and a Minor in Psychology from Lesley University located in Cambridge, MA. She is a trained Career Coach and has served on various boards in Boston and Champaign-Urbana with current memberships at the Workforce Investment Board of East Central Illinois, Opportunity Nation IL, Central IL Human Resource Group (CIHRG), and a mentor for the Illinois Promise (I-Promise) Program at UIUC. Lynette has earned numerous awards and honors for her commitment to community engagement and quality education for all, including the “2017 Emerging Community Leaders (ECL) Fellow” from the United Way of Champaign County, “2015 Outstanding Community Member Award” from La Casa Cultural at UIUC, and “2014 Founding Honorary Coach” for the Fighting Illini at UIUC. She resides in Urbana, IL and loves spending time with her husband and son.
