Arlene Anderson

A native of Champaign-Urbana, Arlene Anderson is the Interim Director at Urbana Adult Education and has been with us since 1994.   She is a self-described “People Person.”  She attended Eastern Illinois University where she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Career and Organizational Studies and a Master’s Degree in Education. She also worked part time
(evenings) as an Advisor at Parkland College from 1996 until June 2013.  Arlene is a member of a host of civic organizations.  Some of those memberships include the Workforce Investment
Board; The Human Services Council of Champaign-Urbana; The Area Planning Council; The
National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP); Illinois Community
College (ICCB) Advisory Council and most recently, The Statewide Task Force on the Future of
Adult Education and Literacy. She also assists members in crisis at her local church, The Church
of the Living God.  Arlene loves helping adult learners reach their goals.  In her spare time she
